Last Minute Decorations!

Looking to spice up your Halloween décor? Do you want to do something different and out of the box? Don’t want to be one of the cookie cutter houses this Halloween? Well we have a little surprise for you! We have compiled a list of DIY Halloween decorations.

Spirit Jugs- Start with a clean, clear, plastic milk jug. Then take a black permanent marker and draw whatever face you would like on the jug. Make sure you leave the top on so you don’t dent the jug. Lastly, place glow sticks in the jug and watch them glow!

Flower Pot Pumpkins- Try this nonperishable alternative to your classic jack-o'-lantern. All you need is terra-cotta pots, yellow craft paper, short, fat sticks, and a place outside to put them. First invert the pot. Then cut whatever face you would like out of the yellow craft paper and glue to the pot. Then place the short, fat stick in the top of the pot! You’re all set!

Haunted Glasses- This one is quick and easy. All you need is a drinking glass, dishwashing liquid, and water. First, add a couple drops of dishwashing liquid to a small bowl of water. Then dip your finger in the bowl of water and write a spooky, Halloween greeting on the outside of the glass. Lastly, put the glasses in the freezer for at least 10 minutes. When you remove the glasses from the freezer you will see the greeting on the outside!

Paper Bag Gargoyles- Here is what you will need: Brown paper bags, magazine photos of people, scissors, glue, and rocks. Cut the facial features from the magazine photos and glue them to the paper bags. Then give each gargoyle a personalized look by fringing the top of the bag, then twisting the fringe or curling the edges around a pencil. Lastly, place the rocks in the bag so they don’t blow away!

Vampire Balloon Bat- This one will turn heads at your Halloween shindig. You will need two black balloons, black duct tape, black and white card stock, scissors, and black ribbon.  First, start with inflating the balloons. Be sure to make one smaller for the head! Next, use the black duct tape to attach the two balloons at the knots. Then cut the ears, wings, eyes, and fangs from the black and white card stock.  Then use the duct tape to tape them on. Lastly, attach one end of the black ribbon to the bat and the other end to wherever you would like to hang it. Enjoy!
